In 2003, 4-H raised over $4,000 to begin the Kids Helping Kids Foundation. 98 people walked from Burrell’s Woods to the fairgrounds and raised $3,007 from 250 sources. .. . . including the $100 from the Carmi Lions Club, $100 from the Carmi Make a Difference Day fund, $500 from Kiwanis, $500 from the Blackledge Foundation and $500 from Wal-mart. We thank you for your generous support.
In addition to the walk, we held a carnival and dance for area youngsters. Though we were up against heavy competition with area football playoffs, we were pleased with our first effort and look forward to repeating the day next year.
